Tomorrow Water to Present on Proteus Technology at the 14th IWA-LWWTP Conference in Hungary
Anaheim, CA (Sep 3, 2024) – Tomorrow Water, a global environmental solutions provider, is excited to share that it has been chosen to present on its innovative Proteus technology at the esteemed 14th International Water Association Specialized Conference on Large Wastewater Treatment Plants (IWA-LWWTP), set to occur in Budapest, Hungary 8-12 September 2024.
The Proteus system has been successfully implemented in full-scale since 2017 at the 66 MGD (198 MGD peak flow) Jungnang Water Reclamation Facility in Seoul, Korea, where it significantly reduced the facility's spatial footprint by 80% while achieving remarkable treatment performance without the use of chemicals. It has also been installed since 2020 at the 95 MGD (285 MGD peak flow) Seonam Water Reclamation Facility, also in Seoul. This has allowed both facilities to repurpose the created space for public and ecological benefits. In the United States, the Proteus system has proven its efficacy and superiority as a replacement of conventional primary clarifiers in trials and demonstrations at the Anthony Ragnone Treatment Plant in Michigan, the Milwaukee Metro Sewerage District, and in Northern California under a wide range of surface loading rates.
Dr. Victory Fiifi Dsane, Process Engineer at Tomorrow Water, will present "High Performance – Small Footprint Primary Treatment: A Comparison of Floating Media Filtration vs. Traditional Gravity Settling in Seoul, Korea" on 10 September 2024. The talk will focus on the Proteus Technology's superior efficiency and the much-reduced spatial requirements.
Mr. Dongwoo Kim (E.F), CEO of Tomorrow Water, who will be in attendance at the conference, expressed pride in taking part in this important event, highlighting it as a platform to present their sustainable solutions to an international audience and to further contribute to the progress of wastewater treatment technologies. He emphasized that Proteus is a game changer in wastewater treatment with its ability to handle unpredictable and inundating wet weather flow events due to climate change, and most significantly, its ability to create new spaces in existing plants for capacity expansion, upgrades, or to co-locate other infrastructure assets beneficial to the public. Proteus could impart a great value to many of the urban and land-locked large WWTPs in the US, such as Milwaukee’s, where a datacenter could be sited as part of Tomorrow Water's moon-shot Proteus-based Co-Flow concept.
